Please see this FAQ for discovering Room Alert or Axis cameras using Device ManageR:\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/avtech.com\/articles\/136\/how-to-discover-avtech-devices-with-device-manager\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">How To Discover AVTECH Devices With Device ManageR\u00a0<\/a>.<strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/div><\/div>\n<p><em>Monitor Network Devices<\/em>\u00a0attempts to connect to a device on the network and check if a service is running on a specific port.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">&#8211; If the service is running, the connection will be established and the Network Device will\u00a0register as &#8220;up.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">&#8211; If the service is not running or Device ManageR cannot reach the configured system or device, the connection will not be established and the Network Device will register as &#8220;down.&#8221;<\/p>\n<div class=\"su-accordion su-u-trim\">\n<div class=\"su-spoiler su-spoiler-style-fancy su-spoiler-icon-plus su-spoiler-closed\" data-scroll-offset=\"0\" data-anchor-in-url=\"no\"><div class=\"su-spoiler-title\" tabindex=\"0\" role=\"button\"><span class=\"su-spoiler-icon\"><\/span><strong>Add Network Device Monitors<\/strong><\/div><div class=\"su-spoiler-content su-u-clearfix su-u-trim\">\n<p>To create an ICMP, TCP, UDP or HTTP Network Device, follow these steps:<\/p>\n<p>1. Open Device ManageR in your web browser. You may open it by entering &#8216;localhost:8080&#8217; or &#8216;&lt;IP address of host system&gt;:8080&#8217; in your browser&#8217;s address bar.<\/p>\n<p>2. When the <em>Add New Monitor Network Device<\/em>\u00a0window appears, first select the type of Monitor Network Device you wish to create from the <em>Type<\/em> drop-down list (ICMP, TCP, UDP and HTTP).\u00a0The type that you choose determines the fields available.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><a href=\"http:\/\/avtech.com\/articles\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/06\/ADM_Add_New_Network_Device_Monitor.png\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-4602\" src=\"http:\/\/avtech.com\/articles\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/06\/ADM_Add_New_Network_Device_Monitor.png\" alt=\"ADM_Add_New_Network_Device_Monitor\" width=\"350\" height=\"250\" srcset=\"https:\/\/avtech.com\/articles\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/06\/ADM_Add_New_Network_Device_Monitor.png 410w, https:\/\/avtech.com\/articles\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/06\/ADM_Add_New_Network_Device_Monitor-300x214.png 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 350px) 100vw, 350px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<div class=\"su-tabs su-tabs-style-default su-tabs-mobile-stack\" data-active=\"1\" data-scroll-offset=\"0\" data-anchor-in-url=\"no\"><div class=\"su-tabs-nav\"><span class=\"\" data-url=\"\" data-target=\"blank\" tabindex=\"0\" role=\"button\">Standard (ICMP)<\/span><span class=\"\" data-url=\"\" data-target=\"blank\" tabindex=\"0\" role=\"button\">TCP \/ UDP<\/span><span class=\"\" data-url=\"\" data-target=\"blank\" tabindex=\"0\" role=\"button\">HTTP<\/span><\/div><div class=\"su-tabs-panes\"><div class=\"su-tabs-pane su-u-clearfix su-u-trim\" data-title=\"Standard (ICMP)\">\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">The fields common to all 4 types of network devices are <em>Name<\/em>, <em>IP\/Domain Name<\/em>, <em>Timeout<\/em> and <em>Max Retries<\/em>, as shown in the Standard ICMP device below.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">&#8211; In <em>Name<\/em>, enter the name of the Monitor Network Device.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">&#8211; In <em>IP \/ Domain Name<\/em>, enter the IP address or domain name in the \u00a0field.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">&#8211; In <em>Timeout<\/em>, you may enter a value (in seconds) for how long to wait for a reply to the connection attempt, or leave the default of 15 seconds.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">&#8211; In <em>Max Retries<\/em>, you may enter the number of connection attempts to be made before an alarm condition is generated. This field is optional.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">&#8211; In\u00a0<em>Method<\/em>\u00a0select the\u00a0method to use when accessing the specified page. (HEAD requests only the HTTP headers be returned, while GET will return the entire web page.)<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">&#8211; In <em>Response<\/em>, you may enter\u00a0response to expect\u00a0after the connection has been established. Select <strong>Close<\/strong>.
