<\/a>Every Room Alert comes with built in temperature monitoring, and most users also opt to add additional external temperature sensors. In fact, our Digital Temperature and Humidity Sensor<\/a>\u00a0is one of our most popular, as it allows users to monitor both temperature and humidity from the same sensor, while also offering users the option of tracking heat index (\u201cfeels like\u201d temperature) as well as dew point.<\/p>\nOur sensors are constantly tested and analyzed to ensure they are accurately reporting data. Every sensor we offer comes with detailed information on ranges of measurement, along with accuracy and reported increments or resolution.<\/p>\n
In our industry across a wide number of vendors, it is widely accepted that different sensors monitoring the same factor, such as temperature, may report slightly different results due to their build as well as their factory calibration. Also, it\u2019s important to note that a built-in temperature sensor may report a different reading than an external temperature sensor due to the enclosure it\u2019s contained in (for more information, see our FAQ on the subject here<\/a>).<\/p>\n Almost all AVTECH sensors contain an accuracy range within 2 degrees Celsius, and many of them report in increments of less than 0.01 degrees. By having such a tight tolerance, our users know that our sensors will report as accurate a reading as possible. Even the difference of a degree or two can matter tremendously in some environments such as laboratories, so our sensors are designed to be accurate and provide as close of an increment or resolution as it can.<\/p>\n Room Alert additionally offers users the ability to adjust sensor readings to account for differences between sensor types and locations. This allows our users to provide their own internal adjustments based on their facilities and setup, and provides as exact alerting as possible. Once optionally calibrated in Room Alert, these adjusted readings are available in all interfaces, including\u00a0RoomAlert.com\u00a0and Device ManageR<\/a>.<\/p>\n Our Support team has put together a wealth of information<\/a> on all of our sensors and available adjustments that users can access any time.
