Then you may create your Linux Shutdown action by following these steps:<\/p>\n
1. Open Device ManageR in your web browser. You may open it by entering ‘localhost:8080’ or ‘<IP address of Device ManageR’s host system>:8080’ in your browser’s address bar.<\/p>\n
2. Select Alerts \/ Tasks<\/strong> in the navigation bar to the left.<\/p>\n 3. In the Settings<\/em> menu, select Actions<\/strong>.<\/p>\n 4. Select Add<\/strong> at the bottom of the screen to open the Add New Action<\/em> window.<\/p>\n 5. In the Add New Action<\/em> window, enter a name for the action in Name<\/em>. In our example, we’ve called the action ‘My Linux Shutdown Action.’<\/p>\n 6. (Optional)<\/em> In Description<\/em>, you may, if you wish, enter any notes you feel would be helpful.<\/p>\n 7. In Action Type<\/em>, select the action you wish to execute from the drop-down list. Once you make your selection, options unique to that action will appear.<\/p>\n – In Action Type<\/em>, select Shutdown A Linux System<\/strong>.<\/p>\n – There are several fields unique to this action:<\/p>\n – IP or System Name<\/strong> field is the IP address or computer name of the system that the action will send the shutdown command to when an action is performed.<\/p>\n – Username<\/strong> field is the name of the user account used for accessing the target system.<\/p>\n – Password<\/strong> field is the password for the user account used for accessing the target Linux system.<\/p>\n – Port Number<\/strong> field is the port on the target system that is accepting telnet connections.<\/p>\n – Login Prompt<\/strong> field is the expected message returned by the target system to start the login process.<\/p>\n – Password Prompt<\/strong> field is the expected message returned by the target system to indicate the time to send the password<\/p>\n – System Prompt<\/strong> are the characters received when the terminal is ready for a command.<\/p>\n – Logout Command<\/strong> is the command used to log out of the telnet session.<\/p>\n – Timeout<\/strong> is the time that the Telnet connection should stay open for when waiting for a response or attempting to send a command.<\/p>\n 8. In If not successful, retry this Action<\/em>, you may leave the default, 0, or enter a higher number.<\/p>\n 9. (Optional)<\/em> If you wish, you may associate a schedule with this action by selecting Optional Schedule<\/strong> and choosing a schedule from the drop-down list. (If you attach a schedule to the action, it can be performed only during the hours you’ve set up in the Optional Schedule.)<\/p>\n 10. Then select Save<\/strong> to save the action.<\/p>\n 11.
